How do I choose the right paint colour for my room?

Choosing the right paint colour for your home boils down to personal preference, but look at your existing furniture and the light in the room to help you decide. Rooms with plenty of natural light benefit from more muted, cooler tones, whilst bright and vibrant paints can be used to brighten up darker spaces.

The best thing to do is grab some tester pots and test how each colour looks in the space. This is the easiest way to make sure you get the perfect colour!

Should you paint walls or skirting first?

Always paint from the top down – start with ceilings, then walls, and lastly skirting boards. This way, you won’t drip on any freshly painted surfaces!

When it comes to painting any surface, you won’t get far without paint brushes & rollers. These are must-have decorating tools! Use a brush to paint narrow spaces, skirting boards, and around light fixtures and sockets. For large spaces, use a roller for even coverage.
