- Polished copper weathervane
- Brass NSEW cardinal points
- Perfect for smaller buildings
Bi-Plane Cottage Copper Weathervane is perfect for smaller structures, such as bungalows, garages and sheds. The Cottage range of weathervanes adds whimsical interest to structures. Traditionally weathervanes were used to show the direction of the wind to predict weather patterns and were known to have been used on Viking ships. This decorative feature and spacer balls are made using polished copper and brazed together by hand. The cardinal points NSEW are polished brass with a powder-coated black steel rotation rod. Polished copper will quickly lose its lustre, developing an attractive patina before finally turning Verdigris after many years. This process can be slowed down by applying several coats of a good quality clear lacquer spray. The polished brass will discolour in time. A coat of Hammerite will extend the life of the steel rotation rod. All Cottage weathervanes are supplied as standard with an Eave Bracket. This bracket projects 125mm (5”) with a 7.5cm square mounting plate. This eye-catching Bi-Plane Weathervane in copper, with contrasting brass tail fin and a fixed brass propeller, is a reminder of a bygone age as it flies over your rooftop. Overall Dimensions (cm): W33 x H50.8. Bi-plane: W30.5 x D33 x H12.7.
