Product Information

  • Ideal for wood, concrete and stone floors
  • Hard wearing so it won't scratch or scuff
  • 3 coats will give the best protection
Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Paint is tough, protecting from knocks, scuffs, scrapes and spills. Use it on wood, concrete and stone floors. This product covers 12 m²/litre, needs 3 coats, can be applied with a brush, is dry to touch in 4 hours and if needed can be recoated in 4 hours. When preparing concrete and stone floors, if they're bare make sure newly laid concrete has been left out to dry for a month before painting it. Wire brush the floor and remove any dust. Concrete floors can react with the paint and cause it to crack and blister so seal the floor with a stabilizing solution. Or it can be diluted with 10% water, then put onto the floor with a brush or roller. Leave to dry before painting over. For previously painted concrete, wire brush the floor, then wipe with white spirit and leave to dry before painting. When preparing wooden floors when bare, start by sanding the floor, this will give the wood an even finish. The easiest way to do this is with a floor sander. Use 120 grit sandpaper and go along the length of the boards. Make sure you wear a face mask and let the dust settle. Then vacuum and wipe down with white spirit. If you notice any holes or imperfections fill them in with Ronseal Multi-Purpose Wood Filler. Seal any knots with our Knot Block Wood Primer and Undercoat. If the floor is previously painted, sand down, then wipe with white spirit and leave to dry before painting. The colour in the tin will look different at first so you need to stir it thoroughly to mix the pigments. Test it on a small patch of your floor and leave it to dry. The colour should now be as expected so make sure you’re happy with it. You can use a brush, roller or our Perfect Finish Pad to apply the paint. Start painting in the corner that’s furthest from the door. If you’re painting wooden floorboards, focus on two or three at a time to avoid overlap marks and paint in the same direction as the grain. Make sure you don’t paint yourself into a corner. Wait four to six hours for the first coat to dry before adding another. For the best results, apply three coats. After four to six hours you’ll be able to walk across your floor and carefully move your furniture back in. After 72 hours, your floors will be able to resist knocks, scuffs and scratches without chipping, flaking or peeling.
