Use the compression joints for shutting off an open pipe. The compression stop end resists corrosion. It is easy o fit. Size: 22mm. How to make a compression joint: Isolate the water. Pipe ends must be cut square and deburred. Remove nut (A) and olive (B) from fitting (C) if present. Jointing paste or PTFE tape may be applied to the threads. Slip nut (A) and olive (B) onto the pipe. Push the pipe into the fitting body until it goes no further. Slide nut (A) and olive (B) on the pipe onto the fitting and tighten the nut by hand. Hold fitting in one spanner and tighten nut half to one full turn with another spanner. Do not over-tighten. Repeat steps 3 to 9 for other ends if applicable. Turn on the water and check all joints are watertight.
